For the In-between

28 August 2013

We are approaching the time of year I like to call “weather of mass confusion.” People just can’t seem to figure out their internal temperature gauges, myself included.   I, for one, am always hot.

Problem: Typical evening — check the weather outside, a palatable 70 degrees. Feeling good, feeling great, you’re counting down the days to Fall,  you might have just even had a pumpkin spice latte.  But, beware, there’s a looming chill or or how about this — you arrive at the restaurant, movie theatre, your girlfriends apartment and either the AC is blasting or the heat is cranked to high hell.  You’re hot, you’re cold, you’re uncomfortable.

Solution:  The in-between sweater.

Now, I’m not calling for full on fall here with chunky sweaters and ankle boots. Just the perfect pullover, cardigan or wrap to get us through this trying time.  Pull it over your head, stuff it in your purse or sling a cropped jacket just over your shoulders cape-style (Anna Wintour trademarked.)  Easy enough to pull on over a dress, high-waisted jeans, or peplum dress like below. It’s a staple in my wardrobe and it’s the perfect weight to keep cozy.

Now snuggle up!
