Lightweight

7 April 2015

Just like the sun decided to peek her rays of sunshine today,  I too shock you with a fashion post! I haven’t posted anything fashion related since fringe last summer but I am assuming my sartorial obsessions may be your own, so why not be of assistance?

As we approach the time of year I like to call “weather of mass confusion,” where we (is it just me? can I say we?) can’t seem to figure out our internal temperature gauges. I, for one, am always hot. I obsessively check the weather outside, wear what I think is weather appropriate, but if venture indoors the AC is cranked or the heat is blazing, I need something to keep on/take off with ease.

Enter my obsessive search to find something lightweight to solve all my hot flashy problems. I’ve been obsessing over procuring a nuanced denim jacket, but all I was coming across were stiff Kelly Kapowski, popped collar jean jackets. Those jackets were always just for show, no one actually had any movement in one. Try lifting your arms over your head, not happening.

After searching the depths of the internet, high and low, I found the lightweight silky chambray jacket of my dreams. At one of the least expected places – Ann Taylor. Or to be more specific, their new off-shoot, casual line, Lou & Grey. Within this search, I found a few contenders that I wanted to share with you, dear readers. Along with a few ladies wearing the trend ever so perfectly.

so busy.

“I’m so busy I can’t even put my arms in my jacket!”

If you want something a little more rough around the edges, The Newell Jacket from Need Supply will get you on the back of someone’s motorcycle, for sure. Left: this was my second choice, I love the Chanel quilted effect from Standard & Practices.

Stay warm/cool out there, good weather is upon us.
